Today was such a fun day. It was so much information. I couldn't help but feel it would have been great to have taken the class before teaching our water quality expedition. And yet, I think this was so rich because I was able to picture how I could integrate and enrich the expedition for this coming fall.
Stephanie and I learned that after years of teaching 6th grade math together, not even the divorce kayak could made us stop laughing.
Ben Crosby and his team did a great job with the geography lessons and the integration of time lapse graphs.

Math teachers
I was interested in how you (math teachers) are incorporating this into your classroom and cirriculm for middle school?
Math idea
i don't teach math, but I can share something we did yesterday. Two geology grad students had us work with time series graphs. They started by showing us a couple of graphs with the axes labeled, but no explanation or title. They said this was like a riddle, and we had to figure out what the graphs were showing. Then, we had to make up our own "riddle" graph and see if our partner could figure it out.
I'll try to remember to scan the paper and post it here tonight.
