The ecosystem I value the most...

Ecosystems are very important to us and are extremely interlocking of each other.  The obvious ecosystem that I find valuable is the recreational piece.  I love being out doors, fishing, hiking, harvesting wild produce (huckleberry season is perfect right now!) and if it wasn't for our ecosystems we have in Idaho, I would be very limited.  When driving around the farmlands in Idaho and seeing the abundance of produce that is growing, I'm very thankful for the irrigation that makes it all possible.  When hearing about the horrid droughts around the nation, I'm super thankful that I have the ability to take a shower daily if I choose, to run water at my descression, and to water my grass and flowers and garden outside.  To say which one I value the most is obvious, because I truly value the ability to run water in my household at my beck and call, but the selfishness of me automatically points to the recreational side of it all.

If it wasn't for a friend of mine I wouldn't do nearly what I've done outdoors in the last 10 years. Better late than never.  So thankful for what we have here.  Traveling abroad is an eye opener & makes me appreciate even more what we have at home - from the clean water to the lakes & mountains for my recreational activities! :)

You are so right, Ashlee! I think we tend to forget how lucky we are to have a consistent source of clean water. When I see how others struggle just for clean water to drink, I truly appreciate how lucky I am.

Being outside is one of the main reasons I love Idaho so much.  There is so much oppotunity to fish, bike, hike, hunt and ask you said, grow food.  This is such a great place to provide food for our families and also have a place for people who just love being outside.
