I was impressed by the videos I watched as an introduction to this class and the MILES program. I was unaware of the issues that surround me everyday and threaten the enivonment I clearly take for granted.

I enjoy fishing on the Portnuef River, But didn't know that MILES was currently working to improve the eye sore and water quality of the cement channeled section in old town. I drive out to Laa and the Upper Portneuf regularly but was unnware that every time I make that drive I past my a muddy dirty section known as the Marsh River or the issues it faces. I have noticed trails in the area for off road vehicles, but was dismayed to learn that our recreation is causing serious injury to the golden eagle population.

I was impressed to learn how much is being studied and worked out to improve the ecosystems of these areas. I am filled with hope at seeing how important public opinion and awerness is integrated into the programs and I am glad to be taking part in this course to improve my own knowledge on my surroundings and to pass this valuable information on to those I interact with.
