Park Vision - ideas

Submitted by Josh Nielsen on Wed, 2017-06-07 00:00

Some ideas for the park:

1. wading pond 2. interactive nature topics kiosk 3. bouldering/climbing wall 4. exercise activities 5. informational kiosk - varying topics 6. Japanes Garden

I think whatever design becomes reality should include activities that adults and children both can enjoy alone or together. A place to do and reflect.

There were so many great ideas/possibilities discussed. I loved looking at the photos and artistic renderings of some of the improvements! They are still taking public input and USU has students coming up to work on it this fall as well!

A climbing wall would be a great idea.  In Kate Curly Park, located in Idaho Falls, was designed with a small climbing wall and it has a fort at the top.  Could you also create an area for the disabled children.  In Tauphaus Park, located in Idaho Falls, they have a special addition in the Park for disabled children.  An example of one piece of equipment is the swing set has 2 swings that are designed like a child's car seat, where it has a seat belt that attaches in the front after it comes over the shoulders.  This project sounds like it would improve the recreational activities in the city of Pocatello.
