So much to learn!

Greetings fellow educators! I am very excited to have the opportunity to participate in this workshop as a digi-learner. When I learned this past spring that I would be teaching an Aquatic Ecology class this coming year, I knew that I had to take advantage of this awesome experience. Being a transplant from the Midwest, I have been working diligently to understand more about the ecosystems of Idaho and how they are impacted by a variety of human factors. Having grown up in Ohio where moisture abounds, I had never considered sprinkler systems for lawns or irrigation for crops. (Imagine having no idea why one would see round fields when flying in the west!) Having married a local who works with trout, and participating in Poject WET, WILD, and PLT workshops, as well as Ag in the Classroom tours, I have certainly come along way in my understanding of the importance of water in Idaho. Knowing that there is so much more I have to learn, I have no doubt that this week will prove invaluable!
